Mousepad vs Hostinger: AI website builders compared

Should a small business use Mousepad or Hostinger AI Builder?

By the Mousepad team · Reviewed

Choose Mousepad when you want to describe your business and get a website with booking, deposit, or client tools that you keep changing in chat. Hostinger AI Builder is the better fit when you want the builder bundled with hosting and with a domain and mailboxes free for the first year, or unlimited websites on its higher plans. Both build from a description and both can change a site through chat, so compare them on the work your site has to do.

Why we'd choose Mousepad

You want the booking page, a deposit paid into your own Stripe account, and the staff view built from one description and changed in chat, with every change saved as a version you can restore from History.

When to consider Hostinger

You want a hosting plan that bundles the builder with a domain and mailboxes free for the first year, or you need unlimited websites, which its higher plans include. Hostinger also lists an online store with 100+ payment methods. Mousepad's plans don't include mailboxes.

Start from the work the site has to do

A bike repair shop needs customers to book a service slot that fits real opening hours, and may want a deposit to hold it. In Mousepad, say what people can book, how long each job takes, what it costs, and when you're open. The booking page offers only free times inside your hours, and a deposit goes to your own Stripe account.

Then ask for changes, such as closing on Mondays or adding a service, and try the booking as a customer in the preview before you publish.

Weigh the hosting plan against the builder

Hostinger AI Builder has two modes. Manual mode generates a site that you edit with drag and drop, and Agentic mode builds and changes it through chat, with source code access. Its plans bundle hosting, a custom domain and mailboxes free for one year, and several websites. The plan cards show a first-term price and a different renewal price, so read the current terms before you decide.

With Mousepad, you publish to a free address and, on Plus and Pro, connect your own domain. If a hosting plan with a builder, a domain, and email is what you're shopping for, Hostinger is built around that. If bookings or client tools are the point, start with Mousepad and check how much correction the first draft needs.

What will it cost?

Mousepad has a Free plan. With monthly billing, Plus costs $25/month and Pro costs $100/month. See the pricing page for credits, site types, custom domains, and usage limits.

For both tools, add up the services your app needs. Check hosting, data usage, and any paid integrations, then include domain registration and payment fees if they apply. Use the same billing period and expected usage for each estimate.

Start with this in Mousepad

Build a bike repair site in Mousepad with one-hour service slots and weekday hours. Ask for a $10 deposit, book as a test customer, then close the shop on Mondays and check that the times change.

Build a website for a fictional bike repair shop called Spoke and Chain. Include a services page, a booking page for one-hour service slots based on opening hours of 10am to 6pm Monday to Friday, a $10 deposit through Stripe, and a staff view of the day's bookings. Use synthetic bookings.
